I come from a successful 44 year career in the Royal Navy qualified and experienced as both an Engineer and a Warfare Officer.  

My broad operational experience started with the Falklands War and extends through operations in the Gulf, including the tanker wars, to  operations in the North and South Atlantic including extensive anti-submarine patrols.

I spent many years on the Royal Navy Sea Training Staff and am a specialist in Damage Control.

More recently I have been steeped in NATO capability development and was a founding member of NATO's Maritime Unmanned Systems Initiative. 

I was the NATO coordinating officer for the annual REPMUS unmanned exercises including the one in 2022 which was the largest exercise involving unmanned systems in the world.
